Title - Variety of festivities planned

A wide range of festivities will mark the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Kozhikode railway station here.The ‘Chennai-Mangalore Mail’ would chug into the station at 7.50 a.m. on Wednesday, the exact time 125 years ago when the first train to the station arrived on platform, office-bearers of the Confederation of All India Rail Users’ Association said in a release on Tuesday.The train would be welcomed in and its passengers received with flowers.The loco pilots of the train would be presented with ‘Ponnada.’Then, cakes, 125 of them and weighing 2 kg each, would be cut by select dignitaries and distributed among the people, the release said.
