Title - Varanasi-Lucknow route trains to run on electricity

The electrification work on the Varanasi-Sultanpur-Lucknow rail route has been completed and the trains will run with electric locomotive by the end of this month. According to railway sources, once Railway Security Commissioner checks the new electrified route on January 5 and gives his clearance, the trains would run on electric locomotives. The electrification work on the 228 km route has already been delayed for more than three years. Sources said the Security Commissioner gave its nod after inspection then it is expected that the electric trains would start operating from Republic Day.
