Title - Undutiful cop suspended

A railway constable ignored a guard’s cry for help when he was being assaulted by four to five unidentified youth on Saturday. Constable Mandle, posted at CST, just walked off. He was suspended. The incident occurred around 5.11am when train coming from CST, slowed down to enter platform no.7 in Bandra. Balu Babu Jagtap was in the guard’s cabin. Two men barged in and started beating him up. “Their friends too joined in,” said Jagtap. Mandle heard Jagtap’s cries but ran away. “The accused fled. Jagtap lodged a complaint and also mentioned about the railway constable,” said Vijay Dhopavkar. The railway police suspended the cop pending inquiry.
