Title - Two coaches of Chennai sub - urban EMU derailed, trains services affected

Two EMU coaches of Moore Market Complex to Pattabiram EMU Train number 43127 derailed at Avadi Station at 11:25PM on December 26. The incident took place when the EMU was leaving Avadi station. However, no casualty was reported.

Restoration work began immediately as Chennai Division Railway officers rushed to the spot. At 02:20AM the first derailed coach was brought back on the track, while the second coach was brought back on track at 03:20AM. The restoration work is expected to complete at around 10:00AM in the morning.

Following suburban trains will remain affected due to the accident -

Train number 66000 (Avadi - MMC), 66025 (MMC - Sulurpetta), 66029 (Sulurpettah - Nellore), 66030 (Nellore - Sulurpettah), 66026 (Sulurpettah - MMC) , 66002 (Avadi - MMC) ,66015 (MMC - Arakkonam) , 66039 (Arakkonam - Tirupaty) , 66033 (Tirupaty - Nellore) , 66036 (Nellore - MMC), 66003 (MMC - Avadi).
However, Passenger Specials from MMC are being operated in 30 minutes interval to Tirutani (08.30 AM) Tiruvallur (9.00 AM) Pattabiram Military Siding (9.30 AM) and Arakkonam (10.AM) upto 10 AM today.
