Title - Residents of Dera Bassi demand railway station

Dera Bassi: Residents of Dera Bassi have demanded that a railway station should be built in the town so that people could get benefit of rail services.Residents said Dera Bassi is a major place between Ambala and Chandigarh, but there is no railway station till now.The Ghaggar railway station in Mubarkpur is not beneficial for the residents as it has no direct access and approachable road. Leaders of different political parties and residents said people of this city have to go to Dappar, Lalru or Ghaggar railway stations to board the trains.Congress block president Harbhajan Singh, CPM block secretary Shyam Lal, CPI leader Karmchand Gholumajra and residents of the town had raised the demand of setting up of railway station here.
