Title - More trains put under RPF security

LUCKNOW: To ensure that women railway passengers are safe, more trains have been covered under the Railway Protection Force escort. North Eastern Railways (NER) have deputed RPF escort in 21 pairs of long distance trains between Gorakhpur and Lucknow. Women passengers in distress can inform RPF escorts.

Amrapali Express, Bihar Sampark Kranti Express, Gorakhdham Express, Saptkranti, Cochin Express, Vaishali Express, Gokul Express, Barauni Lucknow Express and Yashvantpur Express are the prominent trains in which RPF escort has been deployed.

The Intercity Express and Awadh Express have been provided women escorts of RPF. Railways have also pasted stickers in coaches to create awareness among passengers about helpline numbers and precautions to be taken while travelling in trains. The passengers can call on RPF helpline (0522 2233031, 9794842711) when in trouble from eve-teasers.

Trains like Nainital Express, Century Express, Satyagrah Express, Gokul Express, Gorakhnath Express, Bagh Express, Kushinagar Express, Vaishali Express, Gwalior Barauni and some of the passenger trains are being escorted by the Government Railway Police (GRP). Railways are trying to bring more and more trains under RPF escort.
