Visakhapatnam, Mar 14 :  Owing to track modernization works to be carried out at Santragachi near Howrah Railway Station from March 22 to March 22, the East Coast Railway (ECR) has decided for canceling, short-terminating some of the long- distance express trains. Some trains would proceed to Shalimar instead of Howrah and some trains would start from Shalimar instead of Howrah.

According to ECR Waltair Division Senior Commercial Manager M Yelvender Yadav the trains diverted were Train No 18048 Vasco-da-gama-Howrah Amaravati Express scheduled to leave Vasco-da-gama on March 22 will go to Shalimar on March 23 instead of Howrah. Train No 18047 Howrah-Vasco-da-gama Amaravati Express scheduled to leave Howrah on 23rd March will originate from Shalimar instead of Howrah.

Train No 22831 Satyasai Prashanti Nilayam (SSPN)-Howrah Express scheduled to leave SSPN on March 22 will go to Shalimar instead of Howrah on March 23. Train No 12509 Bangalore-Guwahati Express scheduled to leave Bangalore on March 22and scheduled to pass via Howrah on March 23 will not go to Howrah and this train will be diverted via Hijili-Kokulpur-Midnapur, Adra and Asansol without touching Kharagpur.

Similarly, 15902 Dibrugarh Town-Yesvantpur Express scheduled to leave Dibrugarh on March 22 to pass Howrah at 0045 hrs on March 24 will run via Asansol, Adra, Midnapur, Gokulpur, Hijili and bypassing Kharagpur. Train No 12253 Yesvantpur-Bhagalpur 'Anga' Express scheduled to leave Yesvantpur on March 23 will run via Hijili, Gokulpur, Miudnapur, Adra and Asansol without touching Kharagpur and Howrah.

Train No 18006 Jagdalpur-Howrah Samaleswari Express scheduled to leave Jagdalpur on March 23 will be short terminated at Kharagpur on March 24.. Train No 18005 Howrah-Jagdalpur Samaleswari Express scheduled to leave Howrah on March 24 will originate from Kharagpur instead of Howrah and will remain cancelled from both the directions between Kharagpur and Howrah.

Ten Trains cancelled are Train Number 12864 Yesvantpur - Howrah Express scheduled to leave Yesvantpur on March 22, Train No 12863 Howrah-Yesvantpur Express scheduled to leave Howrah on March 24, Train No 12664 Tiruchirapalli-Howrah Express scheduled to leave Tiruchirapalli on March 22, Train No 1663 Howrah -Tiruchirapalli Express scheduled to leave Howrah on March 24, Train No 12867 Howrah-Puducherry Express scheduled to leave Howrah Mar 24, Train No 12868 Puducherry-Howrah Express scheduled to leave Puducherry on Mar 27, Train No 12842 Howrah Coromandal Express scheduled to leave Chennai on March 23, Train No 12841 Chennai-Howrah-Chennai from Howrah on March 24, Train No 12840 Chennai-Howrah Mail scheduled to leave Chennai on March 22 and Train No 12839 Howrah-Chennai mail from Howrah on March 24.
