PATNA: Diesel Locomotive Workshop (DLW), Varanasi, lifted the T G Russell Cup of the 57th All India Inter Railway Golf Championship which concluded at Patna Golf Club here on Sunday. South Central Railway, Secunderabad, and South Western Railway, Hubli, emerged the first and second runners-up in the team championship.Mohd Nawab of ECR, Hajipur won the trophy in the licensed players category. Deepak Krishnan, former GM of Southern Railway, Chennai, and R K Shukla, former GM, DLW, Varanasi, bagged the best golfer award in the retired officers category. Amar Singh and S K Suri were adjudged the best golfers in the handicap category.In the best golfer category (0 handicap), Giriraj Singh from North Western Railway was declared the winner while Ajay Bharathi from South Central Railway was the runner-up. In the best card open category (0 handicap), S B Singh from DLW and Ramesh Kumar of North Central Railway were adjudged the winners. But in the best card open with handicap category, Rajeev Kumar of Railway Board and N S Patiyal from East Central Railway, Hajipur, were the winners. |
