A 40-year-old man from Chennai created a flutter at the Katpadi Railway Junction when he attempted to end his life by jumping from a footover bridge, on Sunday.

According to railway police, around 8 am, Sundaram of Tiruvottiyur jumped from a footover bridge and had fallen on to platform number 3. He sustained fractures on both legs.

After providing first aid, railway police sent him to the Vellore Government Medical College Hospital, said inspector of police of Katpadi Railway Station, Ravi.

The inspector said a case would be filed against Sundaram after an inquiry is conducted.
