The Delhi Airport Metro Express introduced a new value-based 30-trip monthly pass for commuters on Friday that will give discounts ranging upwards of 60 per cent over the existing single journey fare. With the new pass, for instance, the cost of travel from Dwarka Sector 21 to Shivaji Stadium in Connaught Place will come down to Rs.53 compared to the single journey fare of Rs.150.“We had received feedback from commuters who were worried about trips getting wasted at the end of the month due to holidays, weekly-offs, vacations etc. So, we thought of the 30-trip monthly pass as a tool to counter all such worries,” a Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL) spokesperson said. The DAMEPL has pegged the new monthly pass as a means of bringing down the travel costs for those not travelling on a daily basis. The new pass costs substantially less than the existing 45-trip and 60-trip pass. While a 45-trip pass costs between Rs.500 and Rs.2,500, a 60-trip pass is priced between Rs.600 and Rs.3,000 depending on the boarding and alighting stations. |
