Title - A train driver lert foils suicide bid

An alert driver of a speeding train foiled the suicide attempt of a youth near Vidyanagar Cross here on Monday.Rohit (20) from Ekma village in Sundarghad village in Odisha had lain on the railway tracks near Vidyanagar Cross to end his life. Rohit is employed with a private firm in the City.The driver of the train—on its way to Devanahalli from Bangalore—noticed from a distance a man sleeping on the tracks, and applied brakes immediately. However, by the time the train came to a halt, the engine struck Rohit’s head. The driver called the railway control room who sent the railway police to the spot.They immediately rushed Rohit to a nearby private hospital. He is said to be out of danger. Railway police said that there was a message in Rohit’s cellphone - ‘I love you,’ and
suspected him to be a jilted lover.
