Title - 7 suspended in Ahmedabad - Puri Express roll down for 13 kms without engine

Seven employees of Indian Railways are suspended after Ahmedabad - Puri Express rolled for 13 kms without engine. The incident occurred on Saturday night when 22 coaches of Ahmedabad - Puri Express traveled from Titlagarh station to Kesinga station in Kalahandi district without engine.

Train driver S Venkat Rao and assistant train driver Sushant Singh along with two other employees were suspended by East Coast Railway. Also railway board has decided to conduct a month long safety drive related to shunting at stations across the country.

This incident occured at Titlagarh station when engine of train was detached and rail employees did not applied skid brake on the wheels. As per rules, whenever engine is detached, skid brakes must be put on the wheels of coaches.
