Title - 6 Railway projects in NE delayed

NEW DELHI  – The DoNER Ministry on Thursday confirmed that the six national railway projects and the East-West Corridor have suffered cost and time overrun.The Natioal Railway Projects that suffered time overruns included Lumding-Silchar, Rangiya-Murkongselek, Bogibeel Bridge with linking lines, Tatelia-Byrnihat, Agartala-Sabroom and Jiribam-Imphal, Minister of State for DoNER, Paban Singh Ghatowar said in a Rajya Sabha reply to a question by Biren Baishya.The 670-km East-West Corridor was targeted for completion in 2008-09. Currently 472-km work (69 per cent) of the corridor has been completed. Revised target for completion is 2014, Ghatowar said.
