Title - 300 stations will have free WiFi by the end of 2017

At least 200 more stations will be equipped with free WiFi facility by this year end. Railway Ministry has set up a target of enabling 300 stations with free WiFi by the end of 2017, however at least 200 will be achieved in any case.

Last year, Railtel formed a partnership with Google to provide free WiFi facility on all major railway stations. The partnership ended year 2016 with WiFi on 100 stations. Railway Ministry says that by the end of 2017 all major stations will have free WiFi.

Currently 10 million people can access the facility of free WiFi available at 100 stations. According to an official data, over 15000 first time users connects to rail network every day.
