Indian Railways is seriously struggling to maintain punctuality of trains. In a data revealed by runningstatus.in – last week average delay time for trains that run between Gorakhpur and New Delhi daily is 110minutes. This does not even under trunk routes or main routes where railway traffic is high.

There are total seven trains that run between Gorakhpur and New Delhi daily-

  1. 15707 Amrritsar – Katihar Express
  2. 15273 Satyagrah Express
  3. 12565 Bihar Sampark Kranti
  4. 12553 Vaishali Express
  5. 12555 Gorakdham Express
  6. 12557 Sapt Kranti Express
  7. 15909 Avadh Assam Express

The combined late arrival average of all these trains at New Delhi railway station is 110 minutes. The fun factor about these trains are – out of these 7 trains 4 are superfast with minimal stoppages yet they are unable to reach on time.

Its Amritsar-Katihar that successfully completed its journey on just two occasions in a week while Gorakdham only at one time.

It shows the horrific state of Indian Railways that is only keen to add special trains as per the crowd but when it comes to punctuality you should not try to mention it.
