PATNA: Railways has introduced 11 pairs of special trains on different routes across the country to cope with the rush of passengers during the Durga Puja.According to Danapur DRM L M Jha, the division has made arrangements to ensure passengers' safety in all the festival special trains. Cleanliness, lights, water and other facilities are being ensured in all these special trains, he said and added the special trains were running on the Patna-Delhi, Patna-Ahmedabad, Patna-Indore, Patna-Bangalore, Patna-Kamakhya, Guwahati-Varanasi via Patna, Saharsa-Ranchi, Patna-Tinsukiya and Patna-Anand Vihar (Delhi) routes. The DRM said the electrical department has been asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all major stations under the division during the festival period. Water supply is also being maintained round the clock at most of the stations under the Danapur division.The Danapur division has so far attached 1,803 extra coaches to long-distance trains to clear the rush of passengers. Of them, 759 were AC coaches which were attached to Mumbai, Delhi, Howrah, Chhenai, Pune and Bangalore-bound trains.According to the DRM, the employees manning the passenger reservation system ( PRS) and booking counters at major stations under the division have been asked to report for duty on time. |
