Title - SER OBSERVES WORLD HEALTH DAY

Kolkata, 8th April, 2013:-

A “Health Walk” was organized at SER headquarters, Garden Reach today morning as a part of observance of World Health Day. Shri A.K.Verma, General Manager, S.E.Railway flagged off a Rally organised by SER Bharat Scouts & Guides to mark the occasion. Shri Pramod Kumar, Addl. General Manager, S.E.Rly Dr. A. Roy, Chief Medical Director, S.E.Rly, PrincipalHead of Departments and senior Doctors of SER Central Hospital were also present. Apart from members of Scouts & Guides, a large number of officers and staff of SER also joined the Rally to walk for health.
The purpose of the Rally was to create awareness about controlling Blood Pressure as this year’s theme of World Health Day is Hypertension. Members of Scouts & Guides, carrying colourful placards stating the cause and effects of High Blood Pressure and the ways to control it, went through the North and South colonies of S.E.Railway. Leaflets were also distributed among the local people regarding the ways of prevention of high Blood Pressure.
Free Health check up booths are being organised at different SER hospitals and Health Units during the period from 7th to 13th April. An Awareness Meeting will also be held at Hospital Auditorium tomorrow (9.04.2013) evening to mark the occasion.
