Title - Extension of Hill Queen to Silchar kept in abeyance

The run of Hill Queen Express which was to be extended to Silchar from March 1 has been kept in abeyance by the NF Railway’s decision making body, according to a source from Haflong, the district headquarters of Dima Hasao. In view of the growing tension and the call for agitation against the decision of the NF Railway to extend the Hill Queen service beyond Haflong to Silchar, the railway authorities after due consideration have decided not to implement the decision on the extension of the Hill Queen service. As reported earlier, various organizations and NGOs have unanimously decided to oppose the move of the NF Railway and threatened indefinite blockade of the movement of goods trains through the hills section.
