Title - 27 express, 7 passenger trains for Southern States

Of the 67 new express trains and 26 passenger trains announced by Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, the southern states have got 27 new express and seven passenger trains. He also announced the construction of seven new lines and doubling of 10 lines. Of the seven new lines, the southern states got only two new lines.Bansal also proposed to take up 22 new line projects on socio-economic considerations after obtaining requisite approvals. The southern states got seven new lines in this category.  Of the 10 lines for doubling, the southern states have got only one line.
