Title - Special trains to ease summer rush, booking starts tomorrow

Chennai: Southern Railway on Friday announced nearly a dozen special trains to clear extra rush of passengers come summer. Reservation for the trains connecting Chennai to other TN towns and far off northern towns would commence on March 10.

According to an official release, Train no: 06001 would leave Chennai Central at 10.10am o­n Sundays from May 5 to June 9 and arrive Madgaon at 10.30am the next day. Train no: 06002 running in the opposite direction would leave Mad­gaon at 1.15 pm o­n Mondays from May 6 to June 10 and arrive Chennai Central at 12.30 pm the next day.

The weekly superfast special train to Ernakulam (train no: 06345) will leave Ernakulam at 5 pm o­n Thursdays from April 11 to June 13 and arrive Chennai Central at 5.15am the next day. Train no: 06346 will leave Chennai Central at 8 pm o­n Fridays from May 12 to June 14 and arrive Ernakulam at 8am the next day.

Similarly, the weekly special train (no: 06616) to Coimb­a­t­ore will start from Chennai Central at 9 pm on Wednes­days from April 17 to June 19 and reach Coimbatore at 4.30 am the next day. Train no: 06616 will leave Coimb­atore at 11.55 pm o­n Tuesd­ays from April 16 to June 18 and arrive Chennai Central at 8.15 am the next day.

Train no: 06007, the fortnightly special connecting Chennai to Tuticorin would start from Chennai Central at 7.30 pm o­n April 18th April, May 2, 16, 30 and June 13 and reach Tuticorin at 10 am the next day.  Train no: 06008 will leave Tuticorin at 3 pm on Apirl 19, May 3, 17, 31 and June 14 and arrive Chennai Central at 5 am the next day.

Another fortnightly special via Chennai Egmore, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchy, Karaikkudi, Train no: 06009 will leave Chennai Central at 7.30 pm on Apirl 25, May 9, 23 and June 6, 20 and arrive Rameswaram at 8.45 am the next day.  Train no: 06010 would leave Rameswaram at 3.45 pm o­n April 26, May 10, 24 and June 7 and 21 and arrive Chennai Central at 5 am the next day.

The weekly special to Tirunelveli (train no: 06745) will Chennai Central at 10.30 am o­n Fridays from April 12 to June 14 and arrive Tirun­e­l­veli at 2.30 am the next day. Train no: 06746 will leave Tirunelveli at 5.40 pm o­n Th­u­rsdays from April 11 to June 13 and arrive Chennai Cen­tral at 9.40 am the next day.

Weekly AC special Train no: 06005 will leave Chennai Central at 10.30 am o­n Sundays from April 14 to May 5 and arrive Tirunelveli at 12.45 pm the next day. Train no: 06006 will leave Tirunelveli at 3 pm o­n Mondays from April 15 to May 6 and arrive Chennai Central at 5.15 am the next day.

Weekly superfast special (train no: 06748) will leave Nagercoil at 5 pm o­n Sundays from April 7 to June 23 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 6.05 am the next day. Train no: 06747 will leave Chennai Egmore at 2.35 pm o­n Mondays from April 8 to June 24 and arrive Nagercoil at 5.30 am the next day.

Train no:  06011 AC special will leave Chennai Central at 9 pm o­n Fridays from April 12 to June 14 and arrive Kochuveli at 12.35 pm the next day. Train no: 06012 will leave Kochuveli at 8.05 pm o­n Saturdays from April 13 to June 15 and arrive Chennai Central at 12.35 pm the next day.

Train no: 07313 will leave Chennai Central at 2.10 pm o­n Mondays, Thursdays & Saturdays from April 4 to June 29 and arrive Hubli at 6.35 am the next day.
