Konaseema Railway Sadhana Samithi takes out rally

P Gannavaram (East Godavari): Activists of Konaseema Railway Sadhana Samithi at Amalapuram in East Godavari district undertook padayatra here demanding starting of works on Kotipalli-Narsapuram railway line. A huge rally was taken out by various political leaders, Rythu Sanghams, workers, student unions and representatives of voluntary organisations, here on Tuesday.

The leaders were furious over the laying of foundation-stone for railway 12 years ago but not taking up the works. Funds should be allocated for this in the railway budget and works should be taken up soon, they demanded.

They said that if the rail-line is completed, Konaseema will develop in agriculture, commercial and industrial fields. MLC Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa said that public representatives irrespective of parties should pressurise the Centre for the railway. Ministers and MPs who are representing Konaseema area from Amalapuram and Narsapuram should try to get funds from the Centre. If they fail to do this they should resign from their posts, said former MLA Manepalli Ayyajivema.

MLAs Bandaru Satyanandarao, Ponnada Satish, former MLAs Manepalli Ayyajivema, Chilla Jagadishwari and others participated.
