The closed circuit television camera network at the Madurai Railway junction helped the Tamil Nadu Railway Police solve a theft case and recover stolen mobile phones worth Rs. 3.75 lakh.The TRP Inspector of Police, T. Murugan, said that a dealer of a leading brand of mobile phones had brought seven parcels of mobile phones on January 10.One of the parcels went missing. Manager of the agency, M. Ravikumar, preferred a complaint with the TRP on January 23.A team of officials led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, A.C. Vellaiyan, went through the CCTV footage and found a man slipping with the parcel.Following enquiry they arrested V. Sivaraman, of Coimbatore and recovered all the 63 mobile phones. |
