Title - Woman leaves toddler with CST commuter

Mumbai: A woman abandoned a three-month-old boy at CST on Saturday,leaving him with a passenger on the pretext of making a call.
The passenger,Manoj Vishwakarma,later handed the baby over to the Government Railway Police (GRP).
According to the police,Vishwakarma (40) was waiting on platforms 12-13 when a 30-year-old woman dressed in a green salwar-kurta approached him.The woman requested Vishwakarma to look after the child till she made a phone call.The woman assured him that she would return in 10 minutes, said a police official.
When she did not come back,he got worried and started looking for her.He then brought the baby to the GRP chowky, he added.
The police are examining the stations CCTV footage to get clues about the womans identity.The child has been sent to the childrens home in Dongri, said a senior GRP officer.A case has been registered under Section 317 of the IPC (exposure and abandonment of child under twelve years,by parent or person having care of it).The GRP has alerted railway police stations and officials are checking if a missing complaint has been lodged.
