Title - Railway staff urged to keep abreast of rules

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 26 (UNI)

Mrs Manjula Rangarajan, Divisional Railway Manager, Southern Railway, today urged the staff to keep abreast of the rules and procedures of train operation to ensure hundred percent safety in train running.

Speaking on the safety seminar organized by the transportation branch of Tiruchchirappalli Division for its field staff involved in train operations.

She also emphasized the staff to the strictly adhere to the laid down norms procedure in order to shoulder the responsibility of safe transportation of passengers and goods.

She released a booklet on safe procedures in train operations to help the field staff.

Speaking on the occasion, R Subbian, Sr Divisional Safety Officer, asked the field staff to ensure clear visibility both Loco Pilots and road users in unmanned Level Crossing gates as the unmanned LC accidents are in the raise.

S Subramanian, Sr Divisional Operations Manager in his address, quoted past accident cases and described the correct procedure and urged the staff to update their knowledge in train working.

S B Parameswaran , Divisional Operations Manager, General gave a power point presentation in trilingual format with regard to the shunting procedure and working of trains during abnormal condition.

Three hundred staff from various branches of the division related to the train operation was participated in the seminar.
