Title - Rail traffic disrupted as train derails

AURANGABAD: Passengers of the Secunderabad-Mumbai Devgiri Express (17058) had a close shave when on of its compartments partly derailed while changing tracks near the Igatpuri railway station in Nashik district early on Friday morning.Trains along the section were delayed by nearly an hour and had to be diverted.The train, which had originated from Secunderabad at 12.55pm on Friday, left Aurangabad a little after midnight and met with the accident near around 4.15am.The Igatpuri station, close to Kasara Ghat, is located on the busy Mumbai-Nashik route. It is around 1,900 ft above sea level and is 250km from Aurangabad. The railway line passing through the ghat section is considered one of the steepest in the country.Central Railway (headquarters) public relations officer A K Singh said, "A wheel of a compartment of the train jumped the tracks near Igatpuri railway station. All the passengers of the Devgiri Express left for Mumbai in Khushi Nagar Express and Punjab Mail by 8.30am."
