Title - 2 TTE’s suspended for absenting from checking

JALANDHAR: PS Dhuddi, divisional commercial manager, railways ordered suspension of two railway Train Ticket Examiner (TTEs), A.S. Randhawa and Dinesh Kumar on account of dereliction in performing their duty. Both the TTEs were found absent during checking of travelling tickets of the passengers in the Dadar Express train en-route from Ludhiana to Amritsar yesterday.

The DCM railway conducted checking of tickets of the passengers accompanied by some other staff of the railways. Four TTEs including the suspended ones were directed specially to check passengers travelling in the train without tickets of which only two reported for duty at Ludhiana railway station while Randhawa and Dinesh absented following which both were placed under suspension.

Meanwhile the railways realized a sum of Rs. 14700 from 86 passengers caught travelling without tickets while another sum of Rs. 5800 was recovered from 50 persons for committing other offences.
