MUMBAI: Your 16-hour journey in the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express is set to be more pleasant and comfortable as Western Railway (WR) is planning to revamp the interiors of the train, even as railway authorities are taking efforts to improve the quality of food provided onboard.

WR has planned some changes to make the train interiors more attractive, for which many small changes are in store. For instance, the curtains will be replaced with those of a more attractive colour, seats will have some beautiful tapestry, illumination will be improved and some architectural changes will be done to improve the look of the coaches.

Interacting with reporters, Mahesh Kumar, general manager of WR said that they are going to appoint a professional agency for the proposed changes in Rajdhani Express. He said the changes will be initially made in first AC coaches and later in other classes. “We have also spoken to JJ school of arts for the changes,” he said.

WR has also planned to make some improvement at the base kitchen located at Mumbai Central, for where food supplied food for many trains including Rajdhani Express.
