Title - Train services distupted due to blockade

Train services in the Sealdah main section of Eastern Railway were disrupted for more than an hour during busy hours of the day as the office goers and other commuters raised blockade on the tracks at Shyamnagar Railway station, 31 km north of Sealdah this morning.

Several passenger trains , both up and down of the suburban services were stalled in the section starting from 9 am causing inconvenience to thousands of passengers including the office goers and students who were stranded at different station of the main section. A section of the angry commuters, specially who had to reach different stations of the circular rail strongly protested and raised blockade as they failed to catch the Majerhat bound train due to alleged wrong announcement of the arrival of a Majerhat local at Shyamnagar station by the station authorities. Railway officials at Shyamangar, however, sought apology for such announcement through public address system of the station causing inconvenience to the passengers, but the angry passengers continued blockade so far. Officials and forces of the Government Railway police from Naihati rushed to Shyamnagar, a GRP official said.
