Three powerful pipe bombs kept on a railway track to blow up a passenger train were recovered near Jamshedpur in Jharkhand.Acting on the information provided by the gangman named Ganju, personnel of Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and other officials rushed to the spot and recovered the three IEDs packed in a pipe on Sunday.Briefing the mediapersons, Sub Inspector Neeraj Mishra of GRP said that three detonators were recovered from the spot.He also mentioned that the explosives were diffused and sent for further examination by forensic experts.“We had received information that some explosives were kept near railway tracks. We along with RPF officials rushed to site. A gangman of the railway’s PWI (permanent way inspection) detected these devices and told us about the details. When we searched the site, we found three pipe bombs, which were filled with explosive substances such as aluminium and these things will be now sent for further examination,” said Sub Inspector Neeraj Mishra of GRP.The gangman Ganju also related how he spotted the IEDs during the routine inspection of tracks towards Jamshedpur.Indeed, the timely detection averted a major tragedy that could have caused colossal loss of life and property.“I was doing my routine rounds when I saw some wires on the ground along with some things tied in a plastic bag. Looking at this I informed my seniors. Till the officials reached, I stood here only and made arrangements for stopping any approaching train,” recalled Ganju. | ||
