Title - THE 13009 HOWRAH-DEHRADUN DOON EXPRESS DERAILS BY 11 COACHES BETWEEN MIHRAWAN-KHETASARAI STATIONS OV

11 coaches of 13009 Howrah-Dehradun Doon Express derailed at 1.15 p.m. between Mihrawan- Khetasarai stations on Lucknow Division of Northern Railway today. As per the reports received 4 passengers have died and 45 passengers received injuries(2 Greivious , 19 simple & 24 Trivial). The persons died in the incident are yet to be identified.The injured were admitted in the District Hospital Jaunpur, Sushila Devi Memorial Hospital Shahganj and Govt. Hospital Shahganj.

Srivastava have rushed to the site. Additional General Manager, Northern Railway,

Sh. B.P.Gupta alongwith the team of

senior officers

from Northern Railway,

Headquarters have also rushed for the site. Divisional Railway Manager, Lucknow

Sh. Jagdip Rai alongwith the Senior Divisional Officers, ART and Railway

Doctors have already rushed

for the site. The team of Railway Officers and staff

immediately reached the site to undertake

rescue

operation

and started the

restoration work. Accident Relief Train from Varanasi and Lucknow have reached

the site of accident and the restoration work is in full swing. The rail track is

expected to be cleared by the evening tomorrow.

Railway Minister Sh. Mukul Roy has termed the incident as most

unfortunate and tragic . He has expressed deep condolence over the death in the

incident. He has announced enhanced amount of ex-gratia payment to the victims

of the ill fated train i.e. Rs. 5.00 lacs in the case of death. Rs. 1 lac in the case of

grievous injuries and Rs. 25 Thousand in the case of simple injuries. Minister for

Railway is also rushing to the site of derailment from

Kolkata.

Northern Railway has arranged a special train to clear the passengers of the

ill-fated train to their destination. Adequate arrangements were made to serve

water, tea, snacks etc, to the passengers
