Members of the Kannada Okkoota, led by Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj have called for a 24-hour Statewide rail bandh on December 14 to protest against the release of Cauvery waters to Tamil Nadu.

Members of the okkoota staged a protest at the Kempe Gowda bus-stand on Saturday and demanded that the Karnataka immediately stop releasing water to Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Nagaraj said: “Farmers in the State have no water, and during such a crisis it is not possible to release water to Tamil Nadu.”
