Title - Special train on Indore, Khandwa metre guage

Indore: The Western Railway has announced running a special train on metre gauge section of Indore and Khandwa for four days to facilitate smooth travel to devotees going to Ujjain and Omkareshwar during Kartik Mela. This is made possible because additional rake of train is available at Mhow coaching yard.

According to sources, the rake will be brought to Indore at 8.55 am and the train would depart for Khandwa as special train. The train will depart from Indore at 9.15 and after traversing through Safi Nagar, Lokmanya Nagar, rajendra Nagar, Rau, Harniyakhedi and Kishanganj, reach Mhow at 10.47 am. After that the train will traverse through the ghat section of Patalpani, Kalakund, Choral, Mukhtiyara, Balwada, Barwah and reach Omkareshwar at 1.20 pm. From Omkareshwar the train will reach Khandwa at 3.10 pm passing through Sanawad, Nemarkhedi, Kotlakhedi, Atar and Ajanti stations.

The train will start from Khandwa at 4.00 pm for its return journey, reaching Omkareshwar at 5.25 pm, Mhow at 8.25 pm and Indore at 9.48 pm. The train will be sent to Mhow yard for maintenance and return the next day again for its run. The train will run till November 29. It may be recalled that thousands of devotees take a dip in Narmada River at Omkareshwar and Kshipra River in Ujjain during Kartik Mela and railways is cheaper mode of transport available for the two destinations.
