Title - Seven killed in Bus-train collision in Bihar

In Bihar, seven persons have been killed and more than dozen injured when a bus of an engineering college collided with Howrah-Kathgodam Bagh express at an unmanned crossing near Chap-dhalla locality in Siwan district of Biahr. The seriously injured persons have been sent to PMCH, Patna and injured are admitted to the Sadar Hospital Siwan. Railway has announced compensation of 5 lakh rupees to the next of the kin of the dead, 1 lakh for seriously injured and 25 thousand rupees for each injured person. Bihar government has also announced 1.5 lakh rupees to the kin of those dead in the incident. Angry over the incident, local residents torched the engine of the train and damaged railway property.

Railway Minister Mr. C.P Joshi has expressed his profound grief over the loss of innocent lives and termed it as most unfortunate and tragic. Minister of State for Railways K. H. Muniyappa and other senior officials immediately rushed to the accident site. The Railway Minister has instructed the officials to carry out speedy relief and rescue operation. Railways will bear all the cost of medical treatment of the injured.
