Title - Sabarimala train extension urged

Visakhapatnam: Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Dr D Purandeswari asked Union Minister for Railways Vinay Mittal to intervene and extend the Sabarimala Special train to bi-weekly to carry the devotees to the temple.

The train is running every Thursday from Visakhapatnam. She said that the proposal for making it bi-weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) upto the end of January has been pending with the South Central Railway and the Railway Board has to interfere to facilitate the train keeping in view the growing demand from the devotees from Andhra Pradesh. She told him that top officials of East Coast Railway have already requested the zonal office and his intervention would speed up the proposals.
