Annual and biannual passes to be introduced on suburban section from April 1
.......
Giving more options to Mumbai’s suburban commuters, the Railway Board has issued the provision of half-yearly and yearly season tickets (HST and YST respectively) from April 1. The HST and YST will give a commuter 18 and 37 days of free travel respectively. Under the current set-up, commuters only have the option of purchasing a monthly or quarterly season ticket. However, the same scheme will not be available for Izzat Monthly Season Ticket (MST) or free MST given to students. Similarly, season tickets given on concession to students will not be covered under this provision.

According to the circular issued by the board, the HST and the QST will be chargeable 5.4 and 10.8 times respectively of the MST. While the YST and the HST offer great concessions to commuters, it is to be noted that the tickets are non-refundable.
