Chandigarh: Passengers were left stranded at the city railway station with trains running late by an hour due to foggy weather today. The Jan Shatabdi arrived at the railway station at 9:05 pm after a delay of an hour. Passengers said they were put to inconvenience due to the delay in the arrival of trains.The evening Kalka Shatabdi Express arrived half an hour late. The morning Shatabdi was delayed by 20 minutes. The morning Himalayan Queen arrived half an hour late. There was a delay of 15 minutes in the arrival of the evening train.Sanjeev Sharma, who was at the station to receive his daughter from Delhi, said, "The late arrival of trains causes great inconvenience to passengers and their relatives, who come to receive them.”Passengers said the Railways should draw up a plan to ascertain that trains ran on time. Sudesh Sharma, who came to pick up his relative travelling by the morning Shatabdi, said the Railways should work out a plan since the fog situation could worsen in the coming days.People were seen jostling at enquiry counters to get updates of train arrivals today. |
