Title - New railway enquiry numbers

NEW DELHI: With the meteorological department warning of shallow fog in the next 72 hours, the Delhi division of Northern Railway has made several arrangements to boost the inquiry system. Apart from phone no. 139, an additional manual telephone inquiry service will be provided during fog on MTNL number 011-23747110.

Apart from SMS inquiry at 139, an additional telephone number has been set aside for New Delhi, Old Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar and Sarai Rohilla stations. Passengers can SMS the five-digit train number to 9717631813 and its expected arrival and departure timings at these stations will be SMSed back in a few seconds.

The railways have cancelled seven trains and cut short the route of two others from January 1, 2013 to February 17, 2013. The trains that have been cancelled include the Jharkhand SJ Express (Anand Vihar-Hatia), Janata Express (Howrah-Delhi), Licchavi Express (Sitamarhi-Anand Vihar), Ujjaini Express, Garhwal Express (Delhi-Kotdwar), Jaipur-Amritsar Express, Agra Cantonment-New Delhi Intercity and the New Delhi-Jalandhar Intercity. The Lal Qila Express and Toofan Express - both from Howrah - will be terminated at Mughalsarai and will not enter Delhi division.
