Title - LAUNCHING OF PSC GIRDER IN KORUKKUPET FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD OVER BRIDGE, SPECIAL TRAINS

The engineering department of Southern Railway will launch PSC precast girders in lieu of Level Crossing No.1 on Cochrane Basin Road and Korukkupet (near Korukkupet railway station).

During preliminary arrangements, a lot of trespassing by people, especially school children, was observed.The girders are very heavy and heavy duty cranes and other heavy machinery will be in use at the location.Hence, it is requested that residents in the vicinity of Level Crossing No.1 and other users of the area may exhibit caution and avoid using the road passing through that LC as a precautionary measure.

In view of the above, Line Block/Power Block for 24 hours. from 00.00 hrs. of 06/07.10.2012 to 00.00 hrs. on 07/8.10.2012 between Vyasarpadi Jeeva and Korukkupet station, the following will be the pattern of train services.

The following special trains will be run to clear the extra rush of passengers.

1.Chennai Central – Bilaspur Superfast Special: T.No.06034 Chennai Central – Bilaspur Superfast special will leave Chennai Central at 21.10 hrs. on 06.10.2012 and arrive Bilaspur at 20.15 hrs. the next day.The composition of the train will be6 Sleeper Class, 1 Chair Car, 7 General Second Class and 3 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The train will stop at Gudur, Nellore, Ongole,Vijayawada, Warangal, Sirpur Kagaznagar, Balharshah, Nagbhir, Gondia, Raj Nandgaon, Durg and Raipur.

Advance reservation will commence on 06.10.2012.

2.Chennai Central – Shalimar Weekly Specials: T.No.06029 Chennai Central – Shalimar Weekly Special will leave Chennai Central at 00.30 hrs. on 15th, 22nd and 29th October 2012 and arrive Shalimar at 07.00 hrs. the next day.T.No.06030 Shalimar – Chennai Central Superfast Weekly Special will leave Shalimar at 15.00 hrs. on 16th, 23rdand 30th October 2012 and arrive Chennai Central at 18.05 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 First AC-cum-AC 2-tier, 1 AC 2-tier,2 AC 3-tier, 6 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Chirala, Tenali, Vijayawada, Eluru, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Tuni, Visakhapattinam, Vizianagaram Jn. Srikakulam Road, Palasa, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore and Kharagpur.

3.Santragachi – Chennai Central Weekly Specials: T.No.08041 Santragachi – Chennai Central Weekly Special will leave Santragachi at 12.30 hrs. on Sundays from 7.10.2012 to 28.10.2012 and arrive Chennai Central at 17.00 hrs. the next day.T.No.08042 Chennai Central – Santragachi Weekly Special will leave Chennai Central at 11.00 hrs. on Tuesdays from 9.10.2012 to 30.10.2012 and arrive Santragachi at 14.15 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 3-tier, 9 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Gudur, Nayudupetta and Sulurupetta.
