Title - Information centre opened

Mayor V.V. Rajan Chellappa inaugurated a new information centre of Madurai Corporation at the Rani Mangammal Chathiram opposite Madurai railway station.The information centre will cater to tourists coming to Madurai. Details of all important tourist spots and pilgrimage centres have been displayed with photographs at the centre.Besides, it provides details about projects of Madurai Corporation such as Eco Park, solid waste management, Vaigai drinking water project, sewage treatment plants among others.Collector Anshul Mishra lit the lamp to mark the inauguration.The Mayor also released a booklet on important places of Madurai. Corporation Commissioner R. Nanthagopal, Deputy Mayor R. Gopalakrishnan, zonal Chairpersons P. Salaimuthu and R. Jeyavel, City Engineer (in-charge) A. Madhuram, Tourism Officer Dharmaraj were among those who were present.
