Dehradun: Garhwal MP Satpal Maharaj has raised the issue of recent elephant deaths inside the Rajaji National Park in the state.At a meeting of the Railway Advisory Committee held in Delhi, Garhwal MP Satpal Maharaj said the railway track between Haridwar and Rishikesh needed to be devoid of sharp curves and undulated terrain along the tracks to facilitate the quick movement of elephants.Maharaj also sought the regularisation of Ramnagar to Chandigarh rail service. He demanded additional air-conditioned coach for the Corbett Link Express that linked Delhi to Ramnagar.Satpal Maharaj also said the Railway Vikas Nigam had already started work on the Rishikesh-Karanprayag railway line project and satellite pictures were being used to prepare a digital elevation model.
