Title - Fog, R-Day dress rehearsal affect rail services

Even as the full dress rehearsal disrupted train services due to the closure of Tilak Bridge for 90 minutes, fog too played a spoilsport. On Wednesday, 18 trains were delayed, 16 rescheduled and 10 cancelled. Mahananda Express was reported running late by 25 hours. Trains which were running late by more than 10 hours included Jansadharan Express, Garib Rath, S Kranti Express, Magadh and Poorvottar Sampark Kranti Express. Sealdah, Bhubaneswar and Howrah Rajdhanis  had to be rescheduled. “The heavy backlog of trains led to delays owing to fog in Delhi,” a Northern Railways spokesperson said.
