Title - Fake railways job racket busted in Kolkata

Kolkata, Dec 16 (IANS) A fake railways job racket was busted with the arrest of four people, including a woman, who used forged documents to cheat people, a railway official and police said here Sunday.
Several forged documents, including forms, appointment letters and identity cards, were recovered from the accused arrested Saturday.
"We have arrested four people who were involved in forging official documents and cheating people by luring them with promise of jobs in railways," Amar Kanti Sarkar, additional director general of police, railways, told IANS.
The accused demanded Rs.20,000 from job seekers for a posting in the railways, police said.
According to police, the accused cheated over 1,000 people, collecting nearly Rs.4.5 crore in the process.
"The government railway police Sealdah received several complaints by youths who were duped by the accused, following which raids were conducted and the accused arrested," added Sarkar.
