In a bid to clear extra rush during 'Poush Mela' at Shantiniketan, Eastern Railway will attach an additional general second class coach each to 12347/12348 Rampurhat Express, 13017/13018 Ganadevata Express and 53063/53064 Barddhaman-Barharwa Passenger from 23 to 26 December, 2012. Besides, Eastern Railway will make elaborate arrangements for coping up with the additional rush at Bolpur and Prantik stations in connection with 'Poush Mela' from 23 to 31 December, 2012. For the convenience of the passengers, additional booking counters will be opened at both Bolpur and Prantik stations so that passengers can book tickets easily during the Mela period. To provide first-aid, arrangement of a Railway doctor will be deputed there and First-Aid booth will also be set up.

Moreover, to maintain law & order, adequate number of RPF personnel will be posted in those two stations during the Mela period. In addition, both the stations will be illuminated adequately and generators will be provided at both Bolpur and Prantik stations round the clock. Public address system will also be strengthened by installation of extra loudspeakers at different points of the stations.

'Rabindra Sangeet' will also be played at the stations through public address system. As a safety measure, sufficient number of fire extinguishers will also be provided in both the stations.Catering unit at Bolpur station has been advised to make necessary arrangements to cope up with the extra demand of the passengers during the Poush Mela.
