FEROZEPUR: At the 47th Annual Conference of Indian Railways Technical Supervisors Association (IRTSA) being held on 4-5 December at Rail Coach Factory (RCF) at Kapurthala, Er.Rakesh Kumar, would be honoured with a distinguished award of “Most outstanding Indian Rail Engineer of the year”

Rakesh is presently working as Sr.Section Engineer (W)/Land & Heritage in Divisional Railway Manager Office, Ferozepur, Punjab.

Er. Rakesh Kumar is the author of two books, “Railway Land management A Practical Approach" In English and “Railway Bhumi Parbandan Karoron Kamane a Sarot”, in Hindi, on Railway Land Management.

While talking to the media, Er.Harchandan Singh, general secretary IRTSA said, Er.Rakesh Kumar has thwarted numbers of attempts of private parties and land mafia grabbing the railway land, in recognition of his meritorious services in protecting railway land. He has number of awards to his credits including the highest award of Indian Railways of “Ministry of Railway National Award for outstanding work” for protecting the railway land during the year 2009.

Er.Rakesh Kumar, the author of the books said, “He has penned his ideas as to how the Indian Railways can manage its land to generate crores of rupees and the issue is now under study with all the divisions of the railways including the Directorate of General, Defence Estates”.

He further said, “Now it is for the railways to take immediate steps for the management of proper utilization of land to generate revenue”.
