Jammu January 21: The Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Prasad on Monday stressed for prospective planning in infrastructural development keeping in view the future requirements of police organization. He has called for framing a holistic plan for police housing and other requirements of the organization.

Prasad was speaking after commissioning new Railway Police Headquarters at Channi Rama today. He said that adequate infrastructure is necessary for the efficient delivery and the Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization has been strengthening its housing infrastructure across the State to provide better living and working facilities for its personnel. 
Prasad added that a mega construction plan has been taken into hand under the modernization programme with the aim to house all the police offices in a well-equipped building.
The building has been executed by Police Construction Division (PCD) at a cost of about Rs 2 crores. The two-storied building, with 18,000 sqft area, consists of 22 rooms and a parking space in the basement is having adequate capacity to accommodate Railways Headquarters, besides the Telecommunication Office.  The building is equipped with all modern facilities.
While inspecting the new building, the DGP stressed upon the officers and the engineers accompanying him that while finalizing the building plans, it should be kept in mind that the buildings are provided with all the requirements, including sufficient parking for the vehicles.
Prasad also appreciated the efforts of senior officers and the engineers of PCD for completing the building in a record period of one year. He also emphasized on the better maintenance of the buildings.
The Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters),  S P  Vaid, who was accompanying the DGP explained about the architecture and the material used for the construction. He said that  PCD used all the available means to ensure the timely completion of the building. The Executive Engineer PCD,  N D Khawaja also briefed the officers about the building plan and the capacity of the new complex.
