Title - CR raises height of platforms to reduce mishaps

After a spurt in accidents, Central Railway has now raised the height of platforms at 11 prominent suburban stations in Mumbai.
    Said CR public relations officer A K Singh, “We decided to raise heights of several platforms along the Central and Harbour lines. These include platforms at Masjid, Byculla, Dadar, Ghatkopar, Bhandup, GTB Nagar, Thakurli, Dombivli, Kalyan, Titwala and Khadavli stations.”
    It is learnt that work of raising the height of platforms at Bhandup and Vikhroli is under progress. At present, there is a wide gap between platforms and the train at many stations, making them prone to mishaps.
