Title - Christmas/Winter Special Trains to Kerala from Mumbai, Delhi

The Railways will run special trains from New Delhi and Mumbai to Kerala for the Winter/Christmas holidays 2012, considering the extra rush of people wanting to get to Kerala for their holidays, as most Malayali professionals work outside Kerala. There are two trains from New Delhi to Trivandrum, one from Mumbai to Ernakulam and one from Mumbai to Tirunelveli via Ernakulam and Trivandrum, runing 7 services and 14 schedules in between them. All these trains are via Konkan and the ones beyond Ernakulam are via Kottayam. All these complete running in December 2012 itself, except for one schedule which reaches Mumbai on January 1 2013. Details are below:
New Delhi – Thiruvananthapuram – New Delhi Winter Special Superfasts

There are two pairs on trains, each one running only one service up and down. One of these is a completely Air Conditioned service (AC Superfast). The other one has non-AC sleepers but both services do NOT have General Coaches. So there is no way on these trains other than reservations. Trains belong to the Northern Railways (NR)

Nice! Refreshing attempt by Northern Railway. This will take the load off Kerala Express, Mangala Express and the Rajdhani. Try the AC Express (First Class esp) as there will be heavy delays expected, despite the seemingly non-stop runs)

Mumbai LTT (Kurla) – Ernakulam Winter/Christmas Special Express

Two trains running 5 schedules and 10 services between them in the same time slot. One runs only till Ernakulam while the other goes on to Trivandrum, Nagercoil and Tirunelveli. The LTT – Tirunelveli Special has become quite a regular fixture now, and hopefully will be made permanent soon. All belong to CR (Central Railways)
