CBI ARRESTS SENIOR DIVISIONAL ENGINEER OF RAILWAY FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF Rs. 1.10 LAKH

New Delhi :    The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Senior Divisional Engineer of South Western Railway, Hubli (Karnataka) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.1.10 lakh from the complainant.

A case was registered against Sr. Divisional Engineer, South Western Railway, Hubli U/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for demanding a bribe of Rs.1,10,000/- from a contractor for passing his bill.

CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.1,10,000/- from the complainant in the presence of independent witnesses. Searches were conducted at various places.

The arrested accused is being produced today before the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bangalore.
