BARNALA: Barnala railway station is all set to get a face lift and due to this one can see the railway station undergoing all kinds of repairs. It is being painted, repaired, officials supervising the work and workers doing their best to change the railway station. This is being done as railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal is coming to Barnala following a family commitment.

He will be reaching on December 16. He will be attending a family program at his paternal house in Tapaa. Due to this, railway stations at Tapaa and Barnala are undergoing a complete change. The entire building at the railway station is being painted and repaired, where needed.

The over bridge made on the railway station is also undergoing repair. The iron sheets put on the over bridge have been changed and painted and the passengers’ shed has also been changed. New sheds will also be made soon.

Residents of the town said that it has been for the first time that a Barnala resident has been made the railway minister. People are expecting that the minister will gift new rail links to the town and nearby areas. It should be noted that new train links have been demanded since long now.

Anil Bansal Nanna from Vyapar Mandal stated that the railway minister should take advantage of his ministership and should do what people have been wanting since long. Talking about the repair work being done at the Tapaa and Brnala railway stations, section junior engineer Vinay Kataria stated that the railway stations will get a new look by December 15.

One thing that comes to light and is noteworthy is that the repairwork at the railway stations are being done by child labourers and this is violating the Child Labour Prohibition Act. These children can be seen working right under the vigil of the administration. A child labour claimed that his age is about 15 years and he has been working with the railway doing repairs for about three years now.
