Mumbai: A Mumbai Court on Wednesday said that it would frame charges against MNS chief Raj Thackeray for the attack against students of Bihar in Railway recruitment exam in 2008. Despite his contention in the court that he was not liable for the action of the mob as he was not present at the place of the incident, the court decided to proceed in the case. When MNS was founded in 2006, its agendas were totally unknown. As soon as it started working, it became clear that it would follow the path illuminated by former Shivsena Supremo Bal Thackeray of targeting taxi drivers. However, it went too far when the party cadres allegedly attacked aspirants from Bihar who had turned out in number in railway recruitment exam conducted in 2008.The party cadres attacked Chetna College, and thrashed students in full view of the camera. Party chief Raj Thackeray reaped the benefits of the attack in the general election 2009. At that time, no concrete action was taken against him.His arrest in 2008 had led to a riot-like situation outside the court and two truckloads of Rapid Action Force personnel had to be stationed there to maintain law and order. | ||
